- Lisa Rinna and her daughter Amelia Gray Hamlin are starring in a new MAC Cosmetics campaign together, titled "Born Famous" to promote the brand's latest lip product, Lipglass Air
- The two have been longtime fans of MAC's lip gloss and tell PEOPLE that this new formula has a "nostalgic" feel for them
- This isn't the first time they've worked together, but the mother-daughter duo say they're "lucky" and "blessed" each time they get to collaborate
Growing up, Amelia Gray Hamlin was used to MAC Cosmetics Lipglass being "everywhere around the house," no doubt the result of her mom Lisa Rinna's "Lipglass addiction."
Now, the two are bringing their love for the nostalgic product to their latest collaboration: a campaign for the brand's new gloss.
Titled "Born Famous," the campaign introduces MAC Cosmetics' latest lip product, Lipglass Air, which the brand bills as the "new iteration of the cult-classic gloss." Like the one that originated the name, this was made with gloss aficionados in mind: it's a lightweight, buildable formula that hydrates and nourishes lips. And of course, it's not the least bit sticky.
And suffice it to say, Hamlin, 23, and Rinna, 61 — who are devotees to the OG formula —are now just as obsessed with this formula, too.
"I can't be without anything on my lips," Rinna tells PEOPLE over Zoom, admitting she even sleeps with the gloss on.
Meanwhile, Hamlin appreciates how "moisturizing" it is and also lauds its scent "of vanilla deliciousness."
"This is almost like a lamination over my liner that pairs perfectly and doesn't move it around, which is an amazing quality [to have in] a lip gloss. It's all about keeping the liner intact," she says.

Hamlin and Rinna were thrilled to reunite in the workplace and star in the campaign together. This may not be the first time they've partnered up, but each opportunity, Rinna says, she feels "blessed," while Hamlin calls herself "lucky" to work alongside her mom.
"Who gets to work with their fun, cool mom and gets to play dress up in these crazy outfits, jumping around?" the model says. "I feel so lucky that I have this incredible woman that raised me, and then we get to do life together."
Rinna echoes the sentiment, calling working together a "dream come true."

As for the practicalities of working with your mom/daughter? Not an issue for this duo, who found that they are more alike than they ever thought while at a shoot.
"Every time we're on set together, we realize how [much of] the same of a person we are," Hamlin jokes. "We're both stealing snacks from craft."
Rinna continues, "We're sitting on the floor, putting on our tights."
The gloss may be new, but for Hamlin, it smells of her childhood. "It takes me back," she says.
While the Rinna Beauty founder's first memories of the cosmetics brand date back to when a MAC Cosmetics store opened in her neighborhood in Beverly Hills, Hamlin remembers being introduced to the brand through her mom.
"You had all these drawers, you still do, of all MAC," she remembers. "When you would get down to the bottom of them, you would give us each little goodie bags of your MAC Lipsticks."
Hamlin continues, "Then you'd be like, 'Go crazy, guys.' And then for days we would just be doing our makeup with all your MAC that you were done with."
The "what's mine is yours" vibe has carried through to Hamlin and her sister Delilah's lives today as the two continue to pick up beauty secrets and tips from their stylish mom —and occasionally borrow (and maybe forget to return!) her best products.
Though Rinna says it "does not go unnoticed" when the two take her makeup (Hamlin admits to being in her "brush thief era"), she adds she's happy to share. "I took something recently, I took the Givenchy powder. You want it back?" Hamlin admits.
"That is what I deal with. I go to get something and it's gone," Rinna responds, before Hamlin says, "I thought, 'She never asked for it back, so...' "

Beyond a love of all things makeup, Hamlin's learned that beauty comes from confidence in oneself.
"We go out to dinner and things like that, my mom just never really has the full face of makeup on that all these other moms have on," she says. "And I think from a really young age that taught me to just be really confident in my own skin."
For Rinna, that lesson was important to instill in her daughter — and she was intentional in doing so.
"I always have just been very open and honest in, 'This is how I do it,' " she says. "I wear a lot of makeup at work, and so I don't wear a lot in my life because it's my job. I think that if anything, I was able to really show them who I am. This is me, and that's that."

Naturally, Hamlin has also taught her mom a thing or two about makeup (mainly an adoration for the Greige Lip Pencil, $25).
As their stars continue to rise, both are grateful to have one another through it all, from moments as glamorous as sitting front row at fashion shows to enjoying Taco Tuesday nights together.
"I'm so blessed that I get to have you. We do it together," Hamlin tells her mom. "My mom and I are in our supermodel era together. That's so dope."
