Moose Salto
"You can call me... Moose!"
Portrayed by: Estelle Son
A confident and playful moose with tons of energy and spunk.
Their personality card is "Power Legs", which grants them the ability to double jump.
- An Arm and a Leg: The intro for the game shows their leg getting shot off by Spike with an Albatross 21.
- A Dog Named "Dog": A moose literally named "Moose".
- Double Jump: Their speciality, allowing them to traverse the map much more easily and evade more shots.
- Polyamory: According to Word of God from the 1st Anniversary Reddit AMA post on r/indiegames, currently Moose, Donnie, and Haru are in polyamorous relationship.
- Shotguns Are Just Better: They lean on the Boomstick in their idle animation and character screen, and it pairs well with her mobility. Allowing her to not only get closer from unsuspecting angles but also not worry about accuracy while on the move.
Duck Anderson
"Duck Anderson, at your service."
Portrayed by: Adam Diggle
A laid-back, fun-loving duck who (according to rumor) is a relative of the Mayor.
Their personality card is "It's Medicinal", which allows them to start each round with a unique healing item called the Green Herb.
- A Dog Named "Dog": They're a yellow-feathered stoner duck whose first name is "Duck".
- Dreary Half-Lidded Eyes: His eyes are almost always half-lidded to show off that he's the local Stoner of the group.
- The Cameo: The end of Raver's Rumble reveals that all the trouble Myk had caused was for a birthday present for Duck Anderson. Duck's silhoutte appears in the end and Myk spells out Anderson's first name in giant letters throughout the city.
- The Stoner: Probably the most chill character in the cast and going off the name of their personality card and the item they receive from it, smokes.
DJ Newton
"Beats by DJ Newton."
Portrayed by: Jenna Sharpe
A master of both remixes and headshots, DJ Newton's accuracy isn't to be tested.
Their personality card is "Reading Glasses", which increases their accuracy, allowing them to land more shots on their opponents.
- Friendly Sniper: Carries the Albatross 21 on their back and is a master of sharpshooting, but even when fighting to the death, they still take some time to make friendly quips at the opposition.
- Nerdy Nasalness: They have a slightly nasally voice to go with their reading glasses.
Spike Remington
"Spike Remington's the name! Making friends, is the game."
Portrayed by: Kris Laudrum
The lead guitarist and singer of a local band with a fondness for food and sleeping during the day, Spike brings the hurt to the battle.
Their personality card is "Big Bullets", which increases the damage they do with their firearms.
- Gun Twirling: Spins two revolvers in their hands during their menu idle.
- Guns Akimbo: Their menu idel has them carying apair of Laika revolvers that he twirls around casually.
- Meaningful Name: Their last name is Remington, which fits for someone with a personality card all about increasing the damage of guns.
- The Night Owl: Their character description states that they stay up late and sleep during the day.
Klustr Jr.
"Klustr Jr. Better! Smarter! Faster!"
Portrayed by: Alex Mitts
An intelligent but clumsy mechanic who works best with small robotics. Added with the "Wired Wrecks" update.
Their personality card is "Dither and Banding", which gives them two mini turrets at the start of each round.
- Artificial Limbs: Has a prosthetic leg that they designed and built themselves.
- The Lab Rat: According to their bio, they grew up in a laboratory.
- The Turret Master: Always starts with two turrets.
Ribberto Mulligan
"Did you bring your d20?"
Portrayed by: Nicky Boland
A DM who brews their own campaigns and beverages. Added with the "Nerdvana" update.
Their personality card is "Roleplay", which copies a rival's personality card.
- Non-Mammalian Hair: Sports a beard, despite being a frog.
- Power Copying: Their personality card lets them use their opponent's abilities.
Stevie Gull
"Mr. Gull is my father's name! Call me Stevie."
Portrayed by: Greg Jones
A hard-working fisher with (ironically) a longing desire for peace and solitude. They are unlocked after reaching Level 3.
Their personality card is "Classic", which swaps their starting pistol for the Golden Boira at the start of each round.
- Bling-Bling-BANG!: Stevie's personality card allows him to start with the Golden Boira, and is possibly his weapon of choice.
Donnie B.
"Mmmhmm! That's me... Donnie B."
Portrayed by: Carolina Hoyos
A badass Dobermann who is also a volunteer Sheriff's deputy on the weekends, they put the B in Badass. They are unlocked after reaching Level 6.
Their personality card is "Badass", which gives them a higher maximum health than the other characters.
- Polyamory: Currently Donnie, Haru, and Moose are dating each other according to Word of God.
- Jack of All Trades: While most characters have personality cards that generally lean into one or more synergy types with cards (i.e. Spike synergizing well with weapon cards and damage upgrades to be more offensive), Dobbie's simple base health increase allows them to benefit from all cards equally.
- Weapon-Based Characterization: Their lore stating that they were a volunteer deputy and her choice of weaponry being a revolver. Shows that Donnie is one of the more hardy and hard-hitting characters in the game, just like how western cowboys are usually depicted.
Myk Raver
"Myk. Has. Arrived!"
Portrayed by: Kay Eluvian
The living embodiment of "that one character who aims a gun at someone they're talking to beneath the table". They are unlocked after reaching Level 9.
Their personality card is "Brasslover", which swaps their starting pistol for the Brasshopper at the start of each round.
- Day in the Limelight: They star in their own game called "Raver's Rumble", which can be played on Itch.io here.
- Hidden Depths: While the intro, Raver's Rumble and even their personality card show them to be a troublemaking punk, the ending to Raver's Rumble does show that despite all that, they're a pretty good friend. Especially since all that vandalism they had done throughout the city is actually for Duck Anderson's birthday!
- Waistcoat of Style: "Fancy Feathers" has him clean up into a rather rogue-ish fancy suit with gloves, dress shirt with rolled-up sleeves and a fancy black waistcoat with tie and breast pocket handkerchief.
- Weapon-Based Characterization: Myk's weapon of choice is the Brasshopper, a silenced submachine gun akin to the MAC-10/Mini-Uzi. The way it's shown in their personality card displays them as a rather untrustworthy and underhanded character.
Little Lars
"Little Lars, shooting for the stars!"
Portrayed by: Adam Diggle
Don't let this polar bear's cuddly appearance trick you, for Little Lars is a professional at handling explosives. They are unlocked at Level 12.
Their personality card is "Thick Coat", which tremendously reduces all incoming damage from explosives and also gives Lars a 10% increase in explosive damages in return.
- Bears Are Bad News: A cute, cuddly polar bear who is more than willing to blow you to smithereens while completely ignoring your own.
- Demolitions Expert: Is stated to be proficient in handling explosives, and apparently honed their craft as an expert bomb defuser in a past life. Their idle animation also shows them holding the Punch-R grenade launcher. One of the patches even gave Lars' personality card a boost in explosive damage too!
- It Was a Gift: Their coat was sewed by their mother for their 14th birthday, and they still wear it into their adulthood after she's passed away.
- Otaku: In their diary, after the six year timeskip, they write about watching various anime and even teaching their mom some Japanese. Their drawings in the diary even have some anime influence. After the nine year timeskip, the style of the doodles change to a more different colorful style, but they still talk about manga when bringing up meeting Spike and the rest of their friends.
- Shout-Out: Their name and species seems to be one to Lars, the protagonist of The Little Polar Bear.
Sable Santana
"Sable Santana. Kicking it into gear."
Portrayed by: Itxaso Moreno
A racing legend with a vintage bike they've been repairing overtime, Sable is also friends with Spike and plays bass in their band when they're in town. They are unlocked at Level 16.
Their personality card is "Katana Lover", which swaps their starting pistol for the Katana at the start of each round.
- Achilles' Heel: Fast-moving and evasive opponents. Since they need to get close to attack with their katana, if the opponent uses a movement-speed increasing card or Double Jump, they can easily run away and pelt Sable with bullets while they are unable to catch up and attack. This makes Moose and Haru effectively hard-counters to Sable, unless Santana gets the right cards.
- Badass Biker: A biking legend that can easily cut down their opponents.
- Katanas Are Just Better: Their main weapon of choice, which they stand at the ready with in their idle animation.
Haru
"It's Haru season!"
Portrayed by: Stephanie Komure
A hare with a penchant for speed. If you've ever heard of the Hare and the Tortoise, don't believe it. They beat that tortoise by over a mile. They are unlocked at Level 20.
Their personality card is "Runner", which increases their base movement speed.
- Polyamory: As stated by Word of God, the trio of Haru, Moose, and Donnie are currently in a polyamorous relationship.
- Rascally Rabbit: Hare actually, but their voiceline shows that while Haru's determined and competitive, they're also willing to engage in mischievous banter.
- Shout-Out: The "Haru and the Turtle" cosmetic from the Nerdvana DLC, basically has them cosplay as a member of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, also doubles as a reference to the old fable "The Tortoise and the Hare".
- Super-Speed: Their personality card and synergies encourage moving around as fast as possible, allowing you to quickly traverse the map and either get the jump on the enemy or dodge their bullets.
Margarita Kala
"Let me tell you 'bout a friend, me!"
Portrayed by:Beícoli
A singer and songwriter whose songs permeate the world of Friends vs. Friends. Added with the "gro0vy gallery" update, she is unlocked at Level 24.
Her personality card is "Arpeggio", which activates a special effect if she uses three of the same card type (except for Hot grey cards).
- Promoted to Playable: Originally, she only showed up in the game's intro.
- Singer-Songwriter: And a poet, too!
- Street Musician: Strums her ukulele by the side of the road in the game's intro sequence.
Dale Donovan
"Time to blend in."
Portrayed by: Liam Sigrell
A detective investigating the recent death of Siaro. Added with the "Pixel Vision" update, they are unlocked at Level 28.
Their personality card is "Undercover Agent", which lets them see their enemies footprints and increases damage from behind.
- Hardboiled Detective: Dale pretty much ticks the boxes on every detective stereotype ever.
- In the Back: Their personality card encourages this.
- Paper-Thin Disguise: Their three cosmetics are called "Not a Hero", "Not a Wolf", and "Not a Cop" as expected they're all very poor disguises.
- Totally Radical: While they don't speak like it, their "Not a Cop" cosmetic pretty much has them dress up as a what an adult would think a teen would dress like.
FKF Dingo
"WRUFF WRUFF"
Portrayed by: Elías Fraguas
The hacker who accidentally brought down the satellite on Siaro. Added with the "Friends 4 All" update, they are unlocked by using the 404 and Parley cards, in that order, inside the cabin in the Woods map.
Their personality card is "Left Behind", which gives them Garbage at the start of every round.
- Accidental Murder: They weren't trying to kill Siaro by taking out the satellite.
- Angry Animalistic Growl: When they lose.
- Glitch Entity: Associated with the glitchy eye imagery that surrounds Pixel Vision, and one of their eyes is glitched out.
- Playful Hacker: Besides the Accidental Murder, he's overall a pretty friendly fella.
Siaro
"It'ssss Siaro!"
Portrayed by: Liam Sigrell
A guest character added to the game after nearly a year of campaigning by SiarothePython on Twitter, Siaro was introduced only to be killed off... or was he? He can be unlocked by playing 10 matches as FKF_Dingo.
His personality card is "Venom Eater", which makes poison heal him.
- April Fools: An amusingly late one at that, he was introduced and teased as a playable character before being killed off at least a few days later.
- Dead-Hand Shot: You can find his hand underneath the crashed satellite desperately clinging to life.
- Snake People: To the point that he's referred to as "Snake Boy".
- We Hardly Knew Ye: Was unceremoniously killed off in his reveal trailer to make way for Dale.
Jawhara Farms
"Time to meet the Fluffy Power!"
Portrayed by: Naja H
A guest character created by demonik_bear on Twitter. She can be unlocked by playing 25 matches as FKF_Dingo.
Her personality card is "Fluffy Wool", which makes headshots deal the same amount of damage as body shots.
- Fun Personified: Nearly everyone's having fun with the mayhem in this game, but Jawhara stands out for having almost *no* negative voicelines.
Laika
"You ever faced a Wastelander?"
Portrayed by: Nicole Boland
The main character of Laika: Aged Through Blood (the same character the Laika revolver was named after). She can be unlocked by playing 50 matches as FKF_Dingo.
Her personality card is "At the End of the Road", which gives her a special Laika gun with two bullets at the start of each round.
- The Cameo: A playable cameo character at that.
- The Comically Serious: Compared to everyone else's irreverent attitude about killing each other, Laika comes across as this.
- Shout-Out: Her personality card and voice lines are almost all callbacks to her own game.
