  Adult Swim Yule Log is the perfect Christmas gift……………for the mentally disturbed!

  Another exceptionally zany mind fuck from Casper Kelly, delivered just in time for the holidays and wrapped up with a big ol’ bloody bow. The most excellent part about this flick is, you could never in a million years guess what is going to happen next. It always keeps you on your toes. Although it’s more linear and straightforward thanToo Many Cooks, that makes it more palatable for the average viewer.

  If you’re in the mood to have your head messed with in the best possible way as you down copious amounts of eggnog while waiting for the fat man in the red suit.

  If I had a nickel for every horror movie released by a comedian in 2022 with abrupt changes in tone and plot where an AirBnB gets double booked and a douchey white guy gets force fed a dairy product by a creepy mother figure I’d have two nickels, which isn’t a lot, but it’s weird that it happened twice.

  The first yule log video I can think of that has sufficiently addressed the question of whether that wood crackling so soothingly in the fireplace will directly or indirectly lead to exorbitant amounts of bloodshed, space-time-altering mayhem, and pimento cheese kink play.

  MERRY CHRISTMAS!

  Adult Swim released a surprise feature horror film from Writer/Director Casper Kelly, the brilliant brain behind TOO MANY COOKS - and it's very good! It starts as a Yule log video, then cleverly keeps that stylistic visual conceit (No cheapo channel switches or the like) until it breaks away and gets into more straightforward genre territory, with a bunch of wild (and highly gory) elements thrown in that I will refrain from spoiling because they're a blast to see play out. It's a little broad at times (On ADULT SWIM? No!), but refreshingly committed to its premise (s) and the emotional life of its characters.   Another double booked airbnb horror trope with unpredictably wild twists and turns. By my count, that’s the third one of 2022. This one is entertaining in just how zany some of it gets. To say more would be a bit too spoilery, which kind of ruins the main appeal. The plot and through-lines get a bit muddled due to a rather unique manner of stitching the pieces together. I think a different approach to the edit could have made the overall narrative work a bit better. However, that also might have detracted some of the uniqueness and bat-shit-craziness that Yule Logbrings. Not necessarily a must see, definitely worth checking out. Thanks for the rec @BenGrayeyard

  "Now who do you want to play you?"

  A couple and a group of friends double-book a cabin in the mountains. They pick up a few random logs and make a fire in the fireplace. What they did not know is that these are no ordinary logs. They're logs used to mark the boundaries of a "hanging tree." A tree linked to evil from it's history of lynchings. At least that's what the Sheriff says. He also warns them that there is a killer on the loose.

  Adult Swim Yule Log is a pretty awesome gimmick that will probably enable it to find a quick niche among horror fans. What starts off as your typical Yule Log video pans out…

  I wasn’t sure what to expect. We’ve seen some pretty clever, creative “Yule Log” videos in the last few years but this one goes miles beyond.

  This movie is batshit crazy.

  The less you know about it going in, the better, though. It keeps taking unexpected turns and is both mildly funny and mildly annoying all the way through.The effects are hit and miss. You get crappy CGI fire effects, but you also get awesome pimento cheese dip! No, that’s not code for something else. The most disgusting scene in the movie involves pimento cheese dip.

  The crazy wins out in the end. The many, many WTF moments erase all of its wrongs. Really worth seeing if you’re up for a bit of the unexpected and some cheap thrills!
